There are others. I don't use stevia, it's bulked out with maltodextrin and hubby is highly allergic. The numbers you posted are very high carb.

Amongst others there is xylitol but it is highly toxic to furbabies and I won't have it in the house. I use erythritol. We all have different tastes and you have to find one you like. Amazon for supplies.

Hi @Rottielover

you have mentioned here, and in previous posts that you have difficulty sourcing ingredients in local shops.
Why not shop online?
I find anything I want there, and have it delivered to my home.
Amazon, Holland and Barratt, etc. etc.
You would be amazed at the ease of shopping and range of choice.

regarding your suggestion of the Asda sweetener above, the Maltodextrin is a bulking agent.
You can look it up on Wikipedia here
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltodextrin
and you can try it and see what effect it has on your blood glucose.
Personally, I would not use it. I buy erythritol from Amazon, instead, because I like the flavour, it has zero bg impact, and I find stevia has a nasty aftertaste.

hope that helps.

I looked on amazon but its gonna cost £14 for other sweetners and i cant afford that. So if the asda one is of no use then im stuck as theres nothing else i can get.

erythritol is what I'd like to use but on amazon its £14 including delivery which i cant afford. The most i can afford on sweetner is £5.

I'll look on Holland and Barrett.

It's not useless. It's very high in carbs, yes, but one container has 75grams of sweetener in. I don't know how much you plan to use, bu it weighs next to nothing, and I know my container was almost full when i tossed it out after 2,5 years. In which i did actually use the stuff. Is it ideal? Maybe not. Your meter'll tell you. As for the expensive ones on amazon and the like, they last a while. Unless you bake really, really often. A friend turned me on to this stuff. Expensive, but the best one I've encountered so far! Each use barely makes a dent, so it lasts forever! (This is for 4 bags btw) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pure-Via®-Stevia-Sweet-Granules/dp/B07T14JNXB/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=pure+via&qid=1590831267&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzRzBXQktOVlBWSVlDJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTc3NzQ3MjA5TktZNFhSVUEyJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2NjczNDAyQzI1NTRKUE5WRDdSJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

I didn't know we could post links. Thats the same brand as the one I've found in sainsburys. I could get it delivered to my local sainsburys so i dont have to pay delivery.

You can post links when you've been a posting member for a while, so they can be pretty sure you're not a spam-bot. ;) But you're looking at their erythritol, the one I mentioned is the one mixed with stevia. Erythritol can have a very strong aftertaste, as can stevia. When they're blended just right though, they tend to cancel one another out. This is the blend: https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sweeteners/Pure-Via-Stevia-Leaf-Sweet-Granules-250g

I tried both recipes and the pancakes were awful they looked like pancakes but did not taste like pancakes. The chocolate syrup recipe is lovley just need to find another breakfast option now to use the syrup with.
Well, the chocolate worked out, so that's the most important bit sorted. ;) You could try modifying the keto mug bread recipe, make it a sort of pudding?(Just make the mug bread and toss in sweetener, cacao and dark chocolate chips?)

Hi Rottielover
After starting on a keto diet 3 years ago, we tried all sorts of sweet net. The Stevia you have quoted contains maltodextrin.. not good stuff; plus we find it has a nasty aftertaste.
Xylitol is by far better, i'm sure it's made from some type of tree bark, but anyway, it tastes just like sugar and we use in the same quantities as sugar for recipes.. only down side is it can have a laxative effect if you eat too much!!!
