Ive got to the stage were I barely eat at all or eat very little. I used to get 3-4 Lows a day and now get 2 or 3 once a week. I know that isn't high but I would still be unwell when i spike up like that. Could this possibly be pre diabetes? I've heard that reactive hypoglycaemia can flip

Hi @Ca12 and welcome to the forum.
Have you been diagnosed with RH?
I only ask this because on your graphs you show the spikes, which are high. But no hypoglycaemia.

It does look on the graphs that your fasting levels are normal but depending on what you are eating, the high spikes could be explained.
What do you mean by a low?
High levels can cause symptoms.
What sort of symptoms are you having?
Prediabetes is diagnosed by a blood panel test, by hba1c levels.
We can't diagnose on here.
But I would say, that I would not worry about it so much.
Best wishes

Yes I seen endo and they diagnosed me with it a few months ago after dealing with the symptoms of it for 3-4 years. I've recently noticed I'm not getting as many lows as I used to get. Ive got some lows, more recently one being 3.1 mmol/L. I think i may have had a low on one of those graphs of 3.8 but it didn't show up.

More questions, I'm afraid!
What tests have you had other than bloods, to get the diagnosis?
And also what dietary advice have you had?

To give you an idea, of how RH works.
You eat a meal with carbs or sugars or like me dairy intolerant, your blood glucose levels spike higher because of a few reasons that I won't go into yet. The spike triggers the reaction. You produce because of the spike, too much insulin for the spikes, you crash within a couple of hours after the spike and go into hypoglycaemic levels.

On your graphs this doesn't happen, I don't doubt that you do go hypoglycaemic occasionally, but that again can be described as a normal function. RH more often have repeated episodes during a single day.
A hypo is often termed in th is usually below 3.5mmols.

I had a oral glucose tolerance test done, I failed that is what my gp said. I wore a libre sensor last august and then again this april to confirm the lows as well as finger pricking and he diagnosed me based of that. I attached some of the previous graphs ( i cant find any of my april graphs on my pc so i couldnt send them ) Im getting a 72 fasting insulin test done but that wont be done until Janurary 2024 at the earliest.

These graphs clearly show the hypos! Which is the reason for diagnosis, if it followed the OGTT, that was why the test was stopped, I take it, the test was more than two hours?
What dietary advice were you given because probably your GP might not understand the science behind the condition? I know more questions.
Didn't your endocrinologist follow the test up, with more intervention?
Do you keep a food diary?

Understand these tests, are for an elimination purposes, and even the fasting test is to find out if you still go hypoglycaemic, when you fast. If you don't, you have RH.

Weird isn't it?

see i had to go to private because all the endos in my areas resigned and I wasn't waited another 4 years and the consultant said that they cant do an extended OGTT in the private sector. I did a 2 hr OGTT. Ive had fasting blood sugar tests done and ive been low

There is a reason why I asked about the length of test because I noticed you spike very fast and also crash very fast. Did you actually crash, go hypo during test?
You haven't had dietary advice?
And I take it, you are wonders how to control the symptoms and maybe stop the hypos?
Have you glanced at the threads on the forum?

RH is a condition, that reacts to food and drink, hence the fasting test. If you have a imbalance in your response to certain foods, like I do. The symptoms come on. It is about what goes in your mouth and digested.

Is there anything that would help with the symptoms, that I can help you!

What do you do, when you see a hypo?
