soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
I'm working towards the 4s sofa, but will have to wait until next time.
I just got my results from the nurse.
HbA1c 5.1%, HDL 1.8, LDL 0.9, Triglycerides 0.9, Lipid ratio 1.67
I do take simvastatin OCASIONALLY bcause my nice doctor told me to. But it's definitely NOT every day.
I'm still on 2 x 500mg Metformin pd.
In addition, feet tested, Monofilament test 10/10 . Vibrations test 7( where above 4 is normal) same on both feet.
Weight down 3kg on 6 months ago and waist measurement down 5cm
I'm working hard on that weight. It's not quick, but is going DOWN
I saw a new nurse today. An absolute darling. She thinks the diet is working and agrees that using strips is part of it, but since she's not a prescribing nurse, she can't give me any. She did like my Freestyle Lite meter though.

I use one of these meters too. The meter itself is great and the whole "kit" fits nicely into the little zip bag they include. My only gripe is with the finger pricking thingymabob. Possibly it's just me being a wimp, but it does appear to be hurting me more these days; or perhaps it's just my fingertips being like pin cushions and therefore more sensitive.

And before anyone asks; I change the lancet daily, therefore use the same lancet 3 to 5 times max per day, but only test myself every other day.

I have found that aswel with my freestyle lite, sometimes it feels as if the needle hit the bone

I ddon't test on my fingersI use my forearm, Cugila will no doubt tell you that it isn't accuate to test elsewhere.

but as I only test once or twice per day, and am never in need of tracking a rapid bg drop, it's accurate enough for my purposes.
incidentally, my meter average at the moment is 5.2
Also if stabbers hurt, it may be time to change lancet. I change once in a blue moon and have it set to 2. The blood drop needed by the Lite is so small, that's enough

Great results Hana :D you probably know that the statins have little or no effect on HDL/Trigs, your diet is obviously having the desired effect on cholesterol levels.

Graham

Squeeze up - just got down to 5.9 :D
