Hi all, what’s the best way to get/keep sugars up with a stomach bug please :(

Sorry you've got a stomach bug, do hope you feel better soon. They're horrible to have, especially with diabetes.
Have you got any glucojuice in the house that you can sip 10 mls when you need it? If not you could dissolve sugar in water and use the same way, or any other sugary drink that you can keep down. Alternatively, boiled sweets like barley sugar are good.

Thank you! I know, it’s awful. Especially when you have to face having sugar when you couldn’t think of anything worse lol. Thanks for the advice. I have a carton of apple juice that I’m going to sip on before bed and just half my basal I think! X

Typically, if I am ill my blood sugars rise rather than fall.
With a stomach bug, I rarely eat and as I carb count, I do not need to bolus.

The exception to this was not a stomach bug but the effects of sailing across the channel in a force 8 Gale - sea sicknesses. I had dosed for my meal but did not digest it. Therefore, I had to carefully treat a hypo whilst rocking and rolling around the sea. I slowly ate dextrose.
