Hello,

I had 4 squares of dairy milk before I left home to walk to work this morning to stop me from going low! And I now have stomach cramps! And also got worst after having cereal!! Any ideas of what it could be? I have Doctors Monday but just wanted a rough idea! x

Hi ask to be tested for Coeliac disease, as one of the symptoms I had was upper abdominal pain. Also lactose intolerance. But best to get it checked out by your GP so you can get a proper diagnosis if there is anything wrong that needs medical attention. Best wishes and good luck with your appointment.

Thank you I will do :) I just got a really really bad cramp!

Just see if it happens again Nicola.......if it does, then avoid. There are now many brands of chocolate available.....loads of them are made in other countries so a certain brand might not be ok.

I too had dreadful stomach cramp late afternoon that went on after eating eve meal. It sorted itself out on the toilet. Not sure if too much fat was the cause as I had made a coffee with butter and coconut oil and also had some wensleydale cheese at lunchtime. I also went out in the morning to a large market and bought a large bag of dried dates for OH to eat b4 cycling races. Eat some myself as I felt a bit low, so it could have been the dates....probably it was

Hopefully the pain will pass. If you can, try and keep a diary of the foods you eat and when you have stomach cramps, it will help the GP if you take along the days foods and symptoms. x

I just went to the toilet and it is a bit better but the pain sort of travelled up my body if that makes sense! I might see if I can get an appointment tonight! im too scared to eat now! :( x

OK, what did you eat last night..? Pleas don't say a "cheese sandwich." ;)
No haha....pizza but I was okay it wasn't until I had the 4 squares of chocolate this morning and it came on about 30 mins after that!

Don't be scared to eat Nicola, just be aware and a little cautious. Try if you can to see your GP if you can, or see another one if yours isn't available as the weekend is approaching ! The stomach/ bowel area can be very sensitive at times. Just be careful and try to get through the day. x Take good care

Were you actually having a hypo before you fired off out the door...?

I'm thinking outside the box on this with a theory..

OK here is my mad therory... ("Science" feel free to slap this down.)
Possible early morning liver dump (pizza bread don't do no favours with the spikes & lows.)
Then some weird digestive thing with the bile in the upper intestine while the liver was busy..?
I read somewhere tomatoes sometimes don't help the gut either..?

... Then there is all that cheeeeeeeese..!?? :D

Seriously keep a close eye on the sugars.. It maybe one on those roller coaster days...!

Sometimes correction factors need to change....not sure how you got to work but if you walked, then that will lower bg even more so you will to eat some carb but if ur not sure, just press the bolus button and then enter some carb and then adjust it to offset the correction dose showing at the top lefthand corner of the bolus screen
