Hi Everyone,

Is it common to suffer from stomach issues with type 2 diabetes? For the last three months I have been having tons of burping, loss of appetite, a general bad feeling. I took a gastric emptying study for gastroparesis but it came back negative. I see the gastroenterologists next week but I am really worried. I was diagnosed five years ago and my a1c hasnt been the best. Now its 6.1 but im worried I have done permanent damage to my stomach. It has me so stressed and anxious

It's a common side effect of metformin and a few other often prescribed medication, are you on anything that could be causing you a problem

No help sorry, but going through similiar to you. Nausea started coming and going after only 3 years of being diagnosed and 3 years on again I suffer with daily nausea, some bloating, upset stomach and heartburn. It's such a worry!

I had similar issues over a decade ago, I had a bacterium called helicobactor pylori.
This was discovered after an endoscopy.
It does not necessarily follow that you have to be diabetic or non diabetic to get bad bacteria in your stomach.
The stomach contains millions of good and bad bacteria. Everyone has a different balance.

After I took the anti biotic and having a low carb dietary regime. I have not had many issues with digestive system.
