Type 1 Stomach pains/cramps

Hi Everyone I am new to this community as I have recently been diagnosed with type 1 at the age of 28 years old.

My 2 questions....
1)are stomach pains/cramps common for recently diagnosed diabetics?’

2) has anyone else experienced really foul smelling farts and poo’s since this condition has come on?

It sounds silly but since being diagnosed I have struggled a little with my mental health, being high as a kite one minute and low as rock the next, due to overthinking about scenarios which may never happen, a new worry is these stomach pains and cramps, I feel like I’m
Turning into a hypochondriac and it’s starting to take over my thoughts.

I would really appreciate your guys help.

Thank you H

No I haven’t, just have a long term insulin glargine lantus solostar and a short term insulin aspart novo rapid flex touch

I was diagnosed when 5 years old so can not really remember stomach cramps. BUT I do not think that is type 1 related. As for the farts, yeah mine stink really bad (again not diabetic related sorry) :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Similar here, I was diagnosed when I was 2 so have absolutely no clue - I know I used to be able to clear out a whole room with my farts (very ladylike huh), though I think for me this was due to my undiagnosed gluten-intolerance (possibly for up to a decade or so - don't know) because they're less potent now I'm not eating gluten.

I don't think its related to diabetes, but could be related to something else - an unknown intolerance? a stomach bug you can't get rid of? dunno.

Forgot to say, I would try and see your GP to try and find out why you are getting cramps and stinky farts :)

Hi, best place to start would be with your GP, cramps could be a number of things, so best to get it checked out.
Good luck.

Just my thoughts, no expert opinion.
I'm thinking a long the lines of you might have pancreas problem - you can get abdo pain, and exocrine dysfunction will cause the other problem.
Suggest go to GP - fairly urgently.
Good luck. Let us know how you go.

Get checked but could just be IBS. If you're emotions are up and down or you're feeling stressed then your guts will usually tell you!
At least... mine do!
