Stop the diabetes madness!

I have an Ignored Member alert in my thread so I will assume it is Douglas99 telling us portion control works just fine.

Firstly I want to say to Douglas that I envy him his ability to metabolise carbs as I and so many others lack this ability, see for example my post on my very obese indeed friend.

Secondly, Douglas99, stay off this thread. I thank you for your input but you rarely in these cases anything else to contribute with.

Ah bless.
Someone that thinks he's a mod again, and his one size fits all, and no alternatives to be discussed!
Wrong, we're all in this together I'm afraid.
Possibly better tact with the friend may help.

No-one has literally said "One size fits all" as far as I can see to be fair-LCHF is not for you Douglas obviously and that's fine of course but for the many folks that do enjoy success on a LCHF regime I would suggest you reading the quote below which I remember reading somewhere but stuck in my mind.

If you can't do it maybe I can.
If it's no good for you, it might be for me.
If it doesn't suit you, it just might suit me.

No no no please, don't get going on Douglas99 doing his troll trick again! Please Paul, you are a sensible man. Lets keep to the topic.

I entirely agree with the sentiments of your post, and your quote is spot on.
If lchf doesn't fit totto's friend, possibly steering them away from high GI food to low GI food would be a good approach for this particular individual
