hi
after a couple of month's on insulin and having some strang things happen i have decided to stop it come the new year, putting up with high bg's and thrush is better than the efects i am having from starting on injections x4 daily. i think that just keeping the carb's down to a minimum will do the trick. (hopefully) and i can get back to how my life was before injections.
thanks to all for your help in the past and wish you all good health and a happy new year.

thanks
phil.

Hi. Are you sure this is the right thing to do apart form keeping carbs down which is good? Having high blood sugar, of which thrush is a symptom, in the long-term will do serious damage. There are many types of insulin and regimes so why not discuss options with your doc or post questions on the Type 1 forum.

While it is certainly a calculated decision some people make, have you talked to your doctor about it? Phil is quite right, chronic high blood sugar levels can be very damaging, due to toxicity, which is where neuropathies, renal and retinal damage come from. What is your blood sugar and insulin resistance management program at the moment, medicine aside?
