STOPTOVER, Smoke free October.

Good luck!

Im ashamed to say I havent made it as yet,but will try again,How is it going Totto?

Will do,Like you I refuse to buy any,problem is I have some duty free left,but they wont last much longer.
Thanks Totto

Actually I don't find it hard at all, apart from withdrawal and I think my thyroid is playing up massively too, but the quitting in itself wasn't that bad. I did A LOT of moaning before quitting and was done with it.

I'm still smoke-free since early April sometime (though vaping occasionally). I seriously can't imagine smoking ever again. I'm not boasting, more trying to work out whether anything I did/thought could help others. I remember breaking any brand loyalty I might have had: we were recently back from Germany and had been stocking up since by quarterly visits to Belgium. The price, whilst much cheaper than GB, was still hefty when bought all at once, so I had gone on to those machines that stuff hollow cigarettes. I liked them fine, but had been smoking more and more as you don't get the cue of opening a new pack and I could have lit one from the butt of the last. Really, at the time I gave up, I was more worried that smoking wasn't quite 'enough'!!! God knows what I would have tried next in the way of self-destructive behaviour! That probably led me to Vapesticks, to keep my mouth busy between cigarettes and then they led me to accidentally giving up.

I'd be thrilled if anything I've said could help. I'm always reluctant to give opinions and advice on diabetes as I am still new and a bit rubbish at it, but, for all the negative things that have happened this year, this one I have been good at.

Day 4 still going well, but Freudian slip this morning, got my newspaper & bought 20 B&H, left shop returned and got refund. Old habits die hard lol

Day 7 still going strong, had a few, actually just two weak moments and thought about having one, but resisted.

You know what? Have you actually decided to stop? If so, what is the point in thinking of not stopping?

Either you smoke or you don't. If you don't smoke you don't spend time thinking about maybe having a smoke.

There are moments when I miss the fags and say to myself, it is a pity they are so terribly dangerous and addictive. But as they are both in a very high degree I will never smoke a single one ever again.

It is now six weeks since I stopped and I have recently come off all nicotine including patches and nicotine spray.

Now it is seven weeks. I have noticed that things taste more, particularly coffee and wine. The weight gain has stopped and I think I even have lost a little.

@Totto
Can't match your time scale at the moment, but still off them and no intention of rejoining the smoking clan.

It's another long journey no doubt but one I will take.
