Dear All,

Hope we are well.

I have a strange question for you.

How much is too much – with regards to going for a wee (passing water)

As I wake in the morning (8am) and drink ½ litre of filtered hot water.

Then by 10am then I ring ¼ litre of water and a cup of team.

With lunch I put away 1 litre of cold water with my dinner.

At 5pm I ring drink ½ litre of filtered hot water.

Then about ring ¼ litre of water with my dinner in the evening.

And before bed I have drunk around ½ litre of water.

As I never seem to off the loo, going for a wee..

As I can drink water and with in 20mins I will be bursting to go for a wee….

Is this normal.???

Cheers

I work that out at about 3.25 litres of water plus other drinks (which do count!). So you may be getting through 4+ litres of fluid daily.

I try to drink 2 litres daily, by filling a 2-litre jug first thing in the morning and drinking it over the day. I usually also have a couple of cups of coffee. That seems to be plenty for me, and I usually don't need the loo in the next 20 minutes.

The two main things about peeing - is it a good colour? (pale straw to pale amber); do you pee out as much as you put in, roughly speaking?

Your bladder can get used to going to the loo too frequently (eg if you always go before going out, you will always need to go before you go out) and it is possible to re-program it by consciously thinking - do I need to go? can I wait 5 (or 10, or 15) minutes, and training it to hold on longer.

Wasn't there something in the news recently about people drinking too much water, and that a couple of litres of fluid is enough for most people? Maybe someone else can help us with this?

Hi all,
Not a strange question at all to me.
Dont know if this helps any but some days am fine seem to go just regularly and its comfortable.
Other days/nights am forever going [lose sleep / get grumpy ] and pass loads then need to go again!
I can actually hold my bladder well and on a bad day it does get painful [burns in the bladder]
Have to race to the loo to get more comfy .
I dont seem to drink MORE either on the bad days which has always baffled me. Strange!
It dont make sense to me some days...
