Hi

I am under a lot of stress at the moment at work. My sugar levels are running really high even tho I take enough insulin to cover food. Anyone else experienced this ??

Hi Hilary,

Sorry to hear that you're under a lot of stress at the minute. I know the feeling all too well!

My sugars can be very erratic when I am stressed. Often because I don't eat at regular times but it does sometimes feel like I need extra insulin at times.

Hope the stress subsides soon!

Em :)

Yeah, stress can make my levels high and if my levels are high it can give me stress. I've also noticed sometimes if I'm stressed it's because I'm low which is fun :D

Yes it's common with type 1 - stress does trigger high blood glucose levels, you will have to take corrections and keep a careful eye on your levels whilst experiencing this.

Can you reduce the amount of stress your experiencing such as taking breaks, going for a walk, try some deep breathing exercises or just see what your boss can do to help you ?
