Struggling to get a clear diagnoses

Hello everyone,

I need some help. I’ve been suffering with long Covid since March, caught it when I was 29, no previous health issues. The first 3 months I was pretty ill, all types of symptoms, diagnosed with pericarditis. Since then I’ve been very up and down and still haven’t made a full recovery.

But since maybe the middle of September I’ve started having what seems like diabetic symptoms? Urinating more often and for longer, neuropathy which is all over my body sometimes worse at night and I think worse after meals, very dry mouth, having to drink more water, if I eat a larger meal overall I feel worse, occasionally woken up on the night with a racing heart.

I started testing my blood sugar and my readings we’re so varied. Sometimes they were non diabetic range but then sometimes I’d get prediabetic readings. The highest I saw was 8.8 after eating at one point. First I had urine test done which were normal. Then towards the end of October I had a Hb1Ac done which came back as 4.8% or 29. My symptoms continued until right at the beginning of December I had a on the spot blood glucose test which came back as 5.3, another Hb1Ac test which came back as 4.8% or 29 again, and another urine sample which was normal. Over a week later on Wednesday my GP did another Hb1Ac test which came back at 4.9% or 30. But I also had a fasting glucose test done which came back at 5.6 ( need to double check that with gp on Monday)

What is going on? These particular diabetic type symptoms continue, sometimes I think they’ve improved or almost gone, for them to come back and when I check my blood sugar myself I still get some abnormal readings. I don’t know what to think or do.

Hi, I believe your results from the blood tests are normal.

I think that you could be having symptoms from covid, typically long covid.
I will tag @zand and @lucylocket61 as they have both have long covid.

They will also give you links to blood glucose ranges.

Keep safe

This sounds like typical long covid. I suggest you talk to your GP about this. It can continue for months. I have had long covid-19 since April. I can only give my opinion.
