Struggling to manage my type 1 diabetes

Type of diabetes
Type 1
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 16 years old (I’m now 26) and I’m really struggling to keep a routine of looking after myself. I keep going through cycles of wanting to get on top of it so I start managing it really well but I start to put on weight and as soon as I notice that I just slowly start falling out of a good routine and start skipping doses with meals!

I know the complications and I previously have been in hospital for dka, but I just cant seem to shake this. I am active, get out for walks and go to the gym and eat a balanced diet but again my weight doesn’t go down it somehow goes up when I’m actually taking my insulin.

I’m by no means overweight, but I just want to be thinner than I am now and I can’t do that unless I am putting my health at risk and I’m really wanting to start looking after my diabetes properly I just feel stuck in this horrible endless cycle - does anyone have any advice or at least been through this and out the other side to say it can get better

maybe start pumping your muscles so that the weight goes there instead of into fat? The weight will not decrease, but the body will be more beautiful. Abs cubes, a textured, even back, arms that don't have skin hanging on them... Insulin, which is doping in sports, can be a nice bonus.
