Success! (Yippee!)

Hi Clair,

There's no-one looking, so, where do you stand on the possibility of your diabetes being the result of your (old) lifestyle?

You can tell me, I won't let on. :shh: :silent:

lol I refuse to whisper it. I've been shouting it from the rooftops lol. I firmly believe that my old 'low fat' lifestyle was the cause of my diabetes and all my jumpy weight problems. You know that thing were you lose 4 stone, then a year later it comes back for no apparent reason. My weight has been like a yo yo all my life, and when it went up, I'd hit the low fat diet and eat lots of Special K or baked potatoes, while craving the cheese I loved, but wasn't allowed.

I totally blame my diet for the weight and the diabetes, and I think I totally blame the food industry/marketing around it for poisoning me for so long. Low carb is good. Mr Kellogg is evil. *nods*.

Hi Claire and well done on your reversal and your weight loss.

And thanks for writing such an interesting post.

I have Googled 'Bergstein diet' and didn't come up with anything.

Could you please provide me with a link of some sort...??

Thanks.

Sorry, it's Bernstein. Dr Richard Bernstein. I keep writing the wrong name like a total dunce. I'm glad it was helpful and hopefully this is a bit more helpful lol.

It's also called the Keto diet, and Bernstein was funded by Atkins, so it's all related.

Hey claire! Just want to add my congratulations too and looking at your Avatar you're looking pretty great on Low carb high fat!

Best wishes

Paul

I keep writing Bergstein instead. It's totally embarassing lol. Thanks :p

And thanks again :). It's nicer now the dark circles under my eyes have gone. Did anyone else get that with diabetes, or was I just special?
