Very long story I'm afraid so can't go into everything. I am type 2 diabetic, diagnosed about 10 years ago. Was quickly put onto insulin.
Had a breakdown 6 years ago. Just before that my blood sugars were plumetting and all over the place, hypos most days, didn't matter what I ate or drank. Also had severe pains, numbness etc in my arm, mainly the right one which I believe was due to Simvastatin. Stopped this drug and the next day the pain had more or less disappeared until a few weeks ago.
In August last year, I was put on Ezetimibe, as with the Simvastatin no problems to start except complete fatigue which I have just found out is a side effect. About 6 weeks ago I started getting pins and needles, numbness and pain in my left arm this time. After a few days I put 2 and 2 together and stopped the Ezetimibe and the next day I was fine, and was for about a week, however then the pains came back as severe as they had been 6 years ago. On Monday I had an attack and my blood sugar was 4.6. I tried to eat a grain bar and my jaw wouldn't work and hurt also on my left side. This began to ring panic bells and I spent the next 7 hours in A&E. I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke. My heart is fine.
I have been to my GP on Wednesday and he has sent me for other blood tests to see if my muscles are breaking down and has also referred me to have tests on my nerves.
Yesterday I had a blood sugar on waking of 3.6 and pains again and today was down to 2.6 My diet hasn't changed or my medication. Spoke to the diabetic nurse today and she told me to reduce the Glimepiride from 6mg to 4mg. I am also on Metformin 500mg up to 4 times a day. I have not taken insulin for 6 years, please don't ask, but things have been improving.
I really believe that the pain in my arms is/was down to the Ezetimibe/Simvastatin but why the crashing blood sugars. I normally run quite high.
Anyone have any ideas please.

The pain in jaw I have had. I was refeferred to maxfacial and they diagnosed me with TMJ.

I cannot tolerate statins or ezemetibe at all either.

Levels can lower for loadsof reasons...

Thanks, the pain in the jaw was a total one off, but made me panic as it was in the back of my mind that it was also connected with a heart attack, which Dr confirmed. Hasn't happened again yet.

It can take years for an attack in the jaw to happen again.. I think I've had about 5 in 10 years.
