Sugar free sweets

Hello. Type 2. Low carbing and keeping it all under control
I am having some radio active treatment in a couple of weeks and I have been advised to suck boiled sweets for a few days as this will minimise damage to my salivary glands . Are there are any sugar free boiled sweets that anyone can recommend ? I have seen that some cause the runs and I can't risk that with my treatment . Something lemon would be best.

Werther's original sugar free are good - not lemon, but taste good and not too sweet
 
Most sugar free sweets, or anything labelled as "diabetic friendly" is usually even worse than the genuine article. Remember the old saying, if it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Hi, maybe have a look at the Iglu sugar free pastilles for mouth ulcers. One will last for ages if you can suck one and then it will stick to a gum. I have been known to fall asleep with one and it is still partially there hours later - probably not recommended though. Best wishes for the treatment.
 
Try making up some sugar free jellies and plain gelatine at many times the strength - put a bowl over a pan of hot water and stir in half a dozen packs to half a pint, or however many you can get to dissolve. Pour the result into a tray and let it set, then cut it up into small bits you can suck instead of anything really dire. You might need to roll it up in a sheet of clingfilm to keep and transport easily. I use a double pack of jelly and four packs of gelatine. It does need time to dissolve, and be sure to mix well, otherwise it makes a thick layer at the bottom.
 
Sounds brilliant, @Resurgam! I make 'hot jelly' if I have a sore throat - strawberry sugar free granules x 1 tsp in a mug, made up with hot water. Very soothing. I'm loving the sound of your jelly sweets, though - I'm going to try that!

 
Ricola and Sula sugar free boiled sweets are available online and in most supermarkets, health stores and some pharmacies.
You can get sugar free lemon sherbert sweets in tesco and holland & barretts:

 
Ricola found in most supermarkets will do the trick! Lemon mint and various other flavours - can be found in most confectionary shops too!
 
Aldi do a selection of sugar free sweets, the brand is Dominion, lots of flavours eg butterscotch, mint, fruit, rhubarb etc 59p a box. As all stores are set out the same you will find these on the top left of the sweets and chocolate shelves
