I am 52'year old and mildly diabetic managing with lifestyle modification...
I also follow 24 hours fasting once in fortnight...
Today on fast I checked my sugar level before setting out for evening walk and exercise...walked over 10000 steps partly uphill followed by exercise.Figure was 98...however post exercise I find itvraised to 103...

A 5 pt rise after exercise and without any food is difficult to assimilate..

Pls comment

Welcome to the forum @kpn@PuneIndia . Re your slight rise in blood sugars post exercise. I agree with @In Response , it’s a very small rise and well within the 15% +/- accuracy required by all blood sugar measuring instruments.
Also when your body is working well it will try and regulate insulin / blood sugars for the body’s needs. Exercise can raise your blood sugars temporarily because it knows your muscles are working and will require more glucose for energy. Without going into it, your body has an intricate and finely tuned signalling system, in short , your cells are always communicating with each other, so when you start exercising your pancreas and liver do their thing and will regulate supply and demand. Our bodies are wonderful machines.

There are about 40 different things which can affect your Blood Glucose levels, food is just the major one.
Others include:
Injury
Illness
Stress
Lack of sleep
Exercise
Medications including statins and steroids

Exercise of any kind raises my BG. Now I know it does and that it will come down again later when my body thinks I'm out of danger, I just ignore it. Same as Dawn Phenomenon, it's just what happens to some of us and is designed as a survival mechanism.
