Hi everyone

I'm type 2 and have recently been put on to Novorapid flexpen. I currently take 14 units with three daily meals. Sadly, my sugars are ALWAYS in the 20s! I'm on 80 units of Lantus at night. I've very poor control of my diet (sweets/chocolate etc) I cannot help myself. I'm open and honest with my consultant and diabetic nurse specialists about my sugary intake. I drink about three litres of diet coke per day. I don't think this is excessive as I don't drink tea, coffee or water.
When I started the novorapid my Dr said take 4units at breakfast, 6units at lunch and 8units at dinner time. I feel I'll need much much more in order to settle my sugar level to below 10!

ANY IDEAS FOLKS.

Thanks Mark

Give up the sugary stuff, 3 litres of diet coke is very excessive, though no sugar not good for you in that quantity. if you cant be ***** to help yourself, why should others.

You cannot keep adding more units of insulin in order to indulge yourself. You are on a collision course to complications.
Take your diabetes seriously and if you need any help with an eating plan then just ask.

Excessive diet drinks lead you to want more sweet goodies...

You know you need to cut out goodies and find different foods to eat...

I think you will only get this advice from us, so are you willing to listen?
