sun

Hello Henrysxxxx

I've just been doing exactly that. I enjoy it and I get a bit of vitamin D out of it as well. I usually notice that my BG drops a bit but I'm not sure if that's directly related or not.

Any reason for asking?

To my understanding, the sun is no more dangerous for someone with diabetes than someone without.
It may affect your BG but that depends whether you are comfortable with the heat or not.

You are just as much at risk of sunburn and sunstroke as anyone else.

If you are taking glimipiride or a similar type of drug it can make you more sensitive to sunburn so use plenty of sunscreen

I echo what @mariavontrapp says, I’m not much of a sun worshipper, love a nice day to walk around but prefer the shade when sitting . When I was on Gliclizide a good few years ago I noticed I would catch the sun very easily and burn even within 10 minutes of gardening even with sun cream on, I’m not on the gliclizide anymore but I still make sure I have factor 30 on even on a relatively dull day.
