Hi, I'm a 30 year old skinny women with a height of 160cm and a weight of 47.5kg. I had a fasting blood sugar test a few months ago after glucose was found in my urine in regular check-up - I remember having a porridge before the urine test but nothing for 12 hours before the FBG test. The result was a normal 4.6mmol/l and so my GP immediately dismissed the previous urine test as faulty because as he said "you can't have diabetes at such young age, normal weight and normal fasting BG level. I wasnt convinced since I had some symptoms and decided to get a meter.
This is the reading after I had 100g of steamed rise (I think this contains about 35g of carbs) and half an eggplant.
Before: 5.2
1 hr after: 9.3
2 hr after: 10.1
2.5 hr after: 9
3 hr after 7.8
This looks very strange to be because 1. it's unusually high for a normal person with a normal FBG reading of 4.6; 2.The figures stayed hight after 3 hrs, all for 35g of carbs, suggesting very high insulin resistance and slow digestive system?
Question is, how can I get my GP to diagnose me properly and what should I do to slow the onset of the illness.
I already eat quite healthy, e.g home cooked meals all the time, lots of veg and protein, only 1200 calorie intake every day. I know rice is bad but I'm Asian and it's just culture that we eat rice at every meal. So really confused at what I should do.
