Hi I have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes only mild and controlling it with diet alone. I usually add sweetcorn to my cottage cheese. Is it ok to continue eating sweetcorn?
Hi and welcome to the forum. Do you test using a BG monitor? The thing with any food is, some people can eat what others can't and the only way to really know if corn is a safe food for you is to test after eating it. I had corn nibbles with my dinner tonight but I'm fine with them, with someone else they may (probably would) cause a spike. If you do test and can keep within range then go for itHi I have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes only mild and controlling it with diet alone. I usually add sweetcorn to my cottage cheese. I do not test my levels at all. I follow a weight watchers diet, eating from a list of foods and sweetcorn is one of the foods allowed.Unfortunately, the answer isn't as simple as "yes" or "no." Have you tried testing before/after eating it to see how it affects your glucose levels?
What is your current diet approach (on a general level)?

Doctors and their nurses tell everybody not to test but if you don't test how do you know which foods are increasing your BG and which keep it at a good level,? The reason they tell us not to test is because the NHS can't afford to fund us so we self fund According to Nice guidelines we are supposed to keep levels between 4.5 and 8.5 how are we supposed to do that without knowing what our levels are before and after eating. That's why we testThanks, I don't test at all I have been told I don't have to.
