Natvia is also one of my go-to buys. Ocado stock it and also Tesco who occasionally have good discounts on it.I use Natvia which I think is erythritol and stevia combined. It's the best I've found but isn't terribly easy to get hold of e.g. Sainsburys don't stock it
Wow! Massive well done to you!I just don’t have anything sweet. Can even eat rhubarb without.
Thank you for your input, appreciate your time. I was only diagnosed in Dec so still so much to learn.I get my favourite alternative sweetener - an erythritol and stevia combo - from a specialist health food store. Such is the huge hike in the cost of food in Aotearoa/NZ (and other countries I understand, but we have a cartel-like supermarket and supplier issue going on in our fair isles) - my fave 'betta sweet' is out of my league in the size they only sell it in now. Still coping with what this means for my sweet tooth...
Thank you for this information. Does it have an after taste at all?Natvia is also one of my go-to buys. Ocado stock it and also Tesco who occasionally have good discounts on it.
I didn't like the stevia either, i found the aftertaste was awful.I only use erythritol, both granulated & powdered as I find it has no aftertaste, plus has no effect on my BG. I did try Stevia but didn't like it at all, found there was an aftertaste.
Same here - dunno about rhubarb as I haven't tried it, but I went cold turkey on "sweet" and although I'd thought my tastes might change, I was unprepared by how quickly they did. Worth a try. Nothing lost if it doesn't work for some of you.I just don’t have anything sweet. Can even eat rhubarb without.
[Some] Stevia can/may do. If I remember my original research correctly there are 2 versions of stevia, and the more expensive stevia rebaudiana (reb-A) has less or no aftertaste. I've found that I may get a little aftertaste with pure stevia and some erythritol/steva combinations but Natvia is OK for me. I suspect that the amount we use and sensititvity of taste buds may well have an impact on how we react to it - and somtimes we can just get used to particular tastes or flavours too.Thank you for this information. Does it have an after taste at all?
