Could you share some more info? Are you wearing a CGM? Are they hypos waking you up? Are you checking with a finger prick?

Also, what is you full regimen? Basal-bolus plus metformin? What were your bedtime readings on the night of the hypos? Did you have a 'standard' meal that evening? Any exercise? What are you BGs like either side of your meals?

Without knowing the answers to these questions I would, cautiously, suggest you consider cutting back your Tresiba & see how you get on. Running slightly higher is safer than a hypo, especially whilst asleep.

Best of luck

Hi no cgm it almost killed me last year I don't trust them anymore I use finger prick I use apidra as bolus but I think its insignificant I'm sure it's not my eating cause that weird hypos it started only after I switched to lantus I was on insulatard for the past 20 years I was taking 28u and I get hypo once a week or two so after starting lantus it happend every day even if I take as little as 5 units I'll go hypo after 4 hours i stay sometimes awake keeping eye on it I'm heavy sleeper so even if I go hypo it doesn't wake me up but when I wake it's between 0.41mg/dl and 0.61mg/dl now 3 days in tresiba today didn't get hypo I wake up with a bg reading of 180mg/dl and the whole day is high between 240 / 320 mg dl if tomorrow didn't drop I'll guess I'll increase tresiba dose I'm 70% now sure it was lantus causing hypos

No exercises I'll go to bed between 200/160mg dl yet hypo

I found I would go low in the night taking my lantus in the evening especially after exercise, so I split the dose equally between morning and evening, which solved that problem and allowed me to skip/reduce the morning dose when exercising (to avoid lows during the day while cycling), but then exposed/other things developed (i.e. I then started running high overnight some time later) - things change.

when I switched my tresiba from evening to morning, I just missed the evening dose, and in the morning I injected the full dose. I expected to have a high bg at night and a lot of hypos during the day, but everything was surprisingly good. Tresiba is great in this regard with its looping. But I won't rule out the possibility that I was just lucky.

My endo instructed me to move the timing of my Tresiba last year and told me to do it gradually by 2 hours a day until I got to the correct time. On a side issue, he says that even though the makers of Tresiba say it doesn’t matter what time of day it’s taken - it actually does. He told me optimal time is 7pm. It works for me for sure.

With due respect (I'm not a massive lantus fan myself) different insulins suit different people.

And issues with cgms aren't confined to Abbott (dexcom user here), they just aren't always accurate.

But I'm really glad that you have found an insulin that suits you.

Sorry I know different insulin suit's different people it just traumatized me the fact that my Dr said to me lantus can never do that and refused to put me on tresiba she said Ur symptoms is some kind of depression and cortisol levels causing the hypos so I did it myself switched to tresiba and that fixed everything

Possibly a bit late now, but just a reminder to all that forum rules (found in all moderator's signatures and in the Greetings and Introduction forum) prohibit medical advice , so specific dosing advice is out. Describing your own personal experience or giving a link to a reputable source keeps within the rules.
