May be a stupid question

Can I switch my insulin cartridge into a different insulin pen if I’ve already started using it?

Basically I’ve misplaced my normal pen, I have spares but the one I grabbed first is really old and I’d prefer to use one of my newer spares, but I had already injected before finding my newer spare.

Yes, there is no problem provided you do air shots until insulin starts coming through. It may take longer than usual as the cartridge is started.

When you get the chance ask your GP for a replacement insulin pen that you had and that way you will have the same one as you did before you lost the one you have and you can always ask eventually for another one somewhere down the road as well so that you have it for in case
