Have recently started Synjardy and the instructions are to take with food. I was wondering if anyone takes it without food - because I do not get going very early in the morning by the time I have eaten it is nearly midday before I take the medication, it would be much easier if I could take it without food earlier in the morning.

Explain your situation to your Doctor and see what they mean by take with food it could be a full Breakfast or just something as little as a glass of milk or a snack suitable for diabetics ( Handful on nuts for example.) Or they may adjust your dose.
accordingly . Instructions to take with food is usually to avoid stomach upsets. But best to check

I suspect you will be OK taking it at any time but obviously I'm not the right person to say this. Metformin itself (one of the ingredients) can cause initial bowel issues unless it's the Slow Release (SR) version. There is a Slow Release version of Synjardy if needed but will cost more. I'm not sure about the empagliflozin behaviour. I can only suggest trying.
