Okay, so those of you who know me, i entered this uk page by mistake and made an account on here, but i love reading all your threads and whatnot because the blood glucose readings are completely different than from the american way, i still don't understand them but i'm learning! 4 months ago my A1C was in 10.3 (american reading) and this Tuesday i went to my endocro and my A1C lowered to 8.5 (american reading) I was so happy! i mean i have to go back in January to check it again and my goal is to have it below 7.5 (american reading) or below! I haven't had it this low since grade 7. and i'm currently in grade 12. I also recently went to Cuba for a whole week and i walked a lot to i believe that contributed for my A1C lowering because my blood sugar levels were mostly low the whole time.

I also have some questions ( i would prefer if a female would respond)
my boyfriend and i want to have intercourse but i don't know if i keep my insulin pump on or off? not for the sake of my boyfriend but i'm wondering because i'm afraid it'll come off or something like that.

thank you :)

good to see your bloods coming down
this might help with a tip or two

I'd keep the pump on, if you find it's in the way, you can remove or adjust for next time, If you take it off, I'd start with your BG a bit high as you would for exercise. off topic but I'd also use two contraceptives, eg oral pill and condoms or diaphragm and condoms

Welcome to the forum Jenny, hopefully some female insulin pump users will be along shortly to offer you some advice.

It's really personal choice, I usually remove mine, but if it's "in the heat of the moment" type occurrence then it usually gets left on. Reason I remove is i don't want it just roaming around if there's no where to clip it!

I agree with the above comment though, as you're at school I'm assuming you don't want to go down the baby route right now! So I'd advise either contraceptive pill or the implant or coil from a contraceptive point of view and then condoms or diaphragm from an STI/STD point of view. That way you know you're safe :)

Hi and welcome!

Congratulations on your a1c

:D:D:D

Is it much hassle to disconnect a pump? I reckon it could be a bit of a mood breaker, if it is...

Hello and welcome to the forum, good luck with it all. I don't have a pump, but obviously always try and be safe regarding the aspects of intimacy. Take care

RRB :)
