When diagnosed 8 years ago my fasting sugar was always around the 7.0 mark but recently I have noticed it creeping up so that 9.2 is the norm now. Two hours after food is 11 or even 12.0. I am getting very concerned about this. So am I right to be concerned and should I see my GP soon instead of waiting until my annual check in November. One more thing can grief and stress raise your blood sugar?? My mother died suddenly in June

Absolutely grief and stress can raise your blood sugars. Are you eating low carb to try and control? Sorry for your loss, I know from experience how stressful it can be.

Hi Figaro5,
It can be devastating to lose somebody you are very close to.
Stress and Grief certainly can increase BG, but so can lots of other things:
Infections
Lack of Sleep
Lack of exercise
Eating too many Carbohydrates - even the so-called 'healthy ones'.
