So rookie mistake today, didn’t eat my normal huge breakfast. Absolutely fine till mid afternoon when things went a bit south.

Getting ratty (didn’t notice) then bad head which made me think. Tested and was 4.1.
Ate a carb killa which put me up.
But all afternoon my head just feels fuzzy.
I ate some madademia nuts because I had to do lesson and just didn’t feel right.

Is it normal for things to take a while to catch up even though sugars go up nice and quick?

I am tiredhad a super long day yesterday but wS fine till sugars went lowish.

Haven’t even been overly hungry. Just now had a oooh my starving but then it went.

Just tested as got home and I’m a 5.3 so fine. But my head still feels really slow (like the world is moving too quick) and fuzzy.

Now going in to eat a big dinner and learn my lesson that I always have to have a proper breakfast.

I glad to read things got sorted. When ever I felt a bit odd and then tested and found to be low I'm never sure if it is the low or the shock of the reading. There have been times when I've routinely tested, been low and not felt odd...
Being busy can distract from routines.
Take care

I had a false hypo once and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Truly horrific feeling. Besides the physical illness my cognitive function was so badly impaired that I was confused about everything. I was barely aware of who or even what I was. Managed to get some carbs in me and then woke up the following morning feeling largely ok, so not sure how long it would have taken for my noggin to start firing on all cylinders again. Call it overnight in my case :D

Don’t think it was a false hypo or a hypo to be fair because I was still in 4s. To be honest didn’t actually feel that odd. It was once I tested and was low and a while after that I felt fuzzy. Still really bad now.

Feel very empty now so eating big big dinner and hoping feel better tomorrow, but also don’t want to go silly and go the other way .

But yes feel very dazed!

I e been that low quite a few times and once I realised I was being ratty kind of expected it (possibly not the .1 but definitely in the 4s)

4’s and 5’s aren’t hypos, they are normal.

I’ve no doubt about that but they aren’t hypos in T2’s not on insulin. Feeling rough at that level probably indicates running higher than average.

But I haven’t mentioned hypos.

The question wasn’t anything about hypos or not hypos.

I don’t run higher than average anymore. I hit 4s quite regularly.

But regardless the question has nothing to do with hypos.

I haven't said they are hypos. I am explaining to @Cana that sometimes its possible to feel ill even within the normal range of sugar levels if that level drops a bit more than we are used to or need at that time.

Agreed. My mention above of my false hypo was 4.4mmol/L but at the time I wad regularly running at 13+

although I am post menopausal I still seem to have shaking and dizziness one week out of 5. Like clockwork. So something hormonal may be happening maybe, increasing sugar level sensitivities every so often, even though my levels are within the normal range.

Does that seem like a possibility @Cana ?

Not sure. It’s end of my monthly this week so possibly.

I’m having hormone blood test for my annual in August in case I’m menopausal.

Think it originated from lack of breakfast. Just usually once I eat I recover. Today I did t feel I did. Still haven’t

So thinking more about yesterday.

The fuzzy head and confusion got far worse after is eaten and sugars had recovered.

So maybe not low sugar related?

Went to bed in 6s woke up in 6s and fuzzy head gone although to be honest I don’t feel right.

Headache brewing and just tired (which I’m putting down to my extra long day on Wednesday) frustrating because I’ve slept and should be fine.

@Cana are you still on Forxiga as I’m wondering if it could be a side effect? Not sure if you’re on statins but I had similar sympthoms which was one of the reasons why I came off them.

Not on statins but yes to forxiga. I know it can cause low sugars but not had it like that before.

Well as it seems not to be a real hypo, nor a false one if you don’t run much higher typically anymore maybe it was nothing to do with your blood sugars at all and just a headache. Either random or with some other cause. Dehydration could be possible with forxiga and a reluctance to drink due to teaching.

Out of interest if you weren’t hungry and don’t consider 4’s unusual why eat the carb killer bar?

I tried the carb killer bar the other day whilst travelling- I ate half of one and felt exactly how you are describing you are feeling for the rest of the day, in the very early days I used to have the odd Atkins bar as well - took me a few times to connect the dots and realise it was the sweeteners and additives in these bars that were making me feel rubbish.

They may not affect everyone that way but it's worth considering it.
