I tend to have high blood sugars on my fasting test between [emoji[emoji6]]-[emoji[emoji6]]mml.
I was advised to take my Metformin just before I go to bed rather than at [emoji[emoji6]]pm which is when I take it now

sometimes if using app it can put in random emojies rather than the numbers. It perhaps is better to edit the post then use the words instead for the values if using pc browser that doesnt appear to happen which is another alternative.

ps welcome to the forum.

Don’t know why it’s come out like that. Basic question should you take Metformin at night to help reduce morning highs

Hi @D-G-S and welcome to the forum. Although I can’t read all of your o/post, I get the gist. When I was on Metformin I was told it didn’t make any difference what time it was taken as long as it was with food to avoid gastric upset. Metformin works very gradually in the background, it doesn’t have an immediate direct effect on blood sugar levels.

When I first was diagnosed I took it building up for 1 to 4 tablets over a month period, 1 in morn next week in morn one at night next week 2 on morn 1 it night and last week 2 morn at 2 night. now due to insulin I am one metformin a day and was told doesn't matter when you take it
