I have been on Metformin since diagnosed in September last year, I have found that my taste has altered considerably, with foods I enjoyed before making me feel quite nauseous. I have brought my HbA1c down from 113 to 78, but my GP wants me to get down further and has increased my Metformin to 1,000 mg a day. This has reduced my appetite even further and I now have even less taste for food. has anyone else had this problem.

I'm Type 1 but I seem to remember @Resurgam saying something about a funny taste, so I'll tag her. She wasn't the only person.

Metformin is also an appetite suppressant so it may be the reason you are less hungry, some people report having a metallic taste in their mouth though I haven't experienced this.

What foods that you enjoyed are now unpalatable to you? - if you have reduced your carbs and stopped eating sugary stuff this may just be a natural change in your palette - I snacked on some chopped up iceberg lettuce the other day and found it extremely sweet. Although I never had a sweet tooth I found low carbing changed my tastes considerably

I could eat nothing when taking metforum ..they made me vomit all the time .. nocked my T2 into remission with the low carb high fat way of eating so I don't take any meds for T2 any more

I take metformin, to start with it helped with reduced appetite.
I have, t really noticed any difference in taste.
I now take a med that causes me to be so much hungrier, so at the moment am eating more
