Type of diabetes
Type 2
Treatment type
Diet only
Recently had a blood test and sugar was 59. Next test is March but been told i will probably be classed as being Type 2 diabetic . Gutted but if Im being honest in my own case its all self inflicted. All I can do now is try and make sure I improve it with diet and exercise.

One other thing Ive recently noticed is that my achilles tendons have started to really ache which has become progressively worse to the point where it is difficult to even walk. Im having physio and on doing my own research I understand that T2DB can have an impact on this condition. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this condition as well as T2DB?

Sorry you have had to joined us ..
But welcome to the club.

As for tendonitis...

I think I spent my 50's dealing with endless aches & pains.

One of which was diagnosed as tendonitis of the wrist

Also had a touch of tennis elbow, without the tennis ( felt robbed )

Whether coincidental or not all those symptoms ended once
A. I reached 60
B. Began low carbing

My monies on LCHF personally.

It does seem once we settle into it, low carb does help a lot of ailments...(asthma here, and others say arthritis eased )

Doesnt help you, I'll admit

But maybe worth keeping in mind over the months ahead to see if it does ease.

I have achilles tendonitis in both feet/ankles for about 1.5 years now. It came on suddenly, and I attribute it to starting on 40mg atorvastatin. Statins are known to weaken the achilles (as is being diabetic). My doctor did not warn me of this side effect.
