Tesco Couscous?

It depends what carb count per day you’re aiming for I suppose?
Was your 50g cooked or uncooked weight?

Well if I ate that, my liver would shrivel into a sugar encrusted lump! It all depends on how carbohydrate tolerant you are, which is why when you are working out what is suitable for you it's best to "eat to your meter". This involves testing your blood sugars two hours from when you started eating your meal. Ideally you don't want to see a rise of more than 2 mMol from your normal blood glucose level, for example if my blood sugar is 5.5mMol, an ideal meal would not cause a rise of more than 7.5mMol. Search this site for "eat to your meter" or simiar search terms for much more info.

I agree with Metabolism_Boss in that you need to see how your body reacts by self testing. Your 50g cooked weight of the cous cous is around 14g carbs. I’ve found by eating to my meter I can eat 50-70g per day. I have around 10 for breakfast, 15 for lunch and 10 for snacks, leaving 20-35g for dinner. I’ve found I can tolerate more carbs later in the day. You need to test yourself to find out what your body can manage.

Quick question guys... Can I get a meter on the NHS?

Depends on if you’re on meds and then which ones. You’ll only get one as a type 2 if you’re on meds which risk you going hypo. If you’re on diet or diet and Metformin then most likely no.
