Test strip anomalies

urine sticks ?!?! Luxury ;)

I was given a set of test tubes, a pipette and a bottle of reagent tablets. It was 5 drops of pee + 10 drops of water... add a tablet and wait for the violent fizzing to stop, wait a further 10 seconds, shake gently and match the muddy mixture against a colour chart.

OK, this is getting too much like a Monty Python sketch ;)

Bring back any memory's Robert....

Yep, except my Clintiest bottles had metal caps ;)

To be honest I can't remember if mine did or not :?

That pre-dates mine Robert, here is the unit that I had that housed the test tube and dropler....

And this was the syringe and plastic holder....

I had a very similar blue syringe holder, but mine was part of a blue plastic box with clips for my vials of U40 regular and isophane. I remember boiling my syringe once a week, wrapped (disassembled) in a cotton hanky !

I do remember boiling the syringe, the surgical spirit which kept the syringe clean afterwards was a nightmare to dispell.... I'm sure I never use to get rid of it all and would inject it together with the insulin

Taking a test strip from each batch and testing a drop of blood from the same finger one after the other!
