test strip machines

Ive had type 2 for many years and always got test strips on prescription from doctors but on a visit last year i was told i couldnt have them anymore, why was this ? i assume government cut backs.
has anyone else had there test strips/monitors took of them ?

Unfortunately it's only the fortunate few T2's that are being offered test strips on prescription. Are you taking any meds at all ? Some have managed to fight their corner and get them back citing DVLA testing regs etc. If you take any meds that can lower BG levels, you may have a chance. Gov't cutbacks again. False economy.
