testing blood in the cold !

HELLO ALL im guna have a rite moan now. i have been diabetic for 43 years and am having all srts of troble now .so i try and test my blood at least 4 times a day to keep eye on whot going on.problem! i work out doors in the cold luvely weather we have .so i go to test my blood .and the meaters do not work in the cold a few months a year this is a major pain in the ass only heat sorce avalable is from the heater in the van .we work till we eat dont have time to ***** around warming upm van stop eat carry on why cant thease companys make a meater that works in the cold this is the uk and i have a hard manua job out side like a normall human !
 
How about one of those hand warmers looks like a knitted pouch reckon that would solve the problem, small and will fit in your pocket.:)
 
HI sum good ideas will solve problem at the mo thanks.is thear a manufacture that makes one for use in the real world ie cold ? prehaps i should move to the sun .dont sound so bad !
 
I keep my meter in an armpit shoulder holster, It keeps it at operaing temperature. My main problem is warming my fingers for a good blood flow for tests!
 
thanks again another good idea .why cant the manufactures make one for use in cold .ok its my falt i chose to work on boats in the cold .nice in the summer grim in the winter .sory i dont work in an office in the warm .im not the only one am i missing sumint maybe a email or to to the manufactures may help whot you think ?

Hey there is plenty of room in Australia if you want warmth. it was 95F today in Canberra
 
ow stop it if it wos up to me id be on next flight other half dont want to leave this cold miserable island !

Problem is Steve by the time you talked the better half around booked the tickets and packed up you would probably arrive in Winter 19F mornings and you would still have your cold Meter problem

yea you probly right .as a kid iremember seasons you would have summer which would be nice winter wuld be cold and s on now it runs from rain rain cold and rain sunn rain rain .you get the pickture global worming more like globall rain fall ! truly depressing .
 
Stick your bg meter under your arm for a minute to warm it up, works every-time :)
