I have been pricking middle of my finger ( where your finger print is ?

But the doctor gave me a book today that says prick on side of finger and not thumb or index finger so I tried it and my levels are much lower did it 4 times ( 2. In middle and 2 on side ) the middle ones were 5.6mmol and the side is 4.7mmol !

So is the side of the finger right ?? X

Yes, it is and use different fingers as well!

But, remember that monitors are not accurate and can be up to 15% out!

You test to see if there is unusual spikes and lows and see if you are under 2mmols at 2 hours. You test to see if there is a food(s) that don't go under 2 mmols at two hours.
You test to see if there is a pattern to your levels.

Hence keeping a food diary!

I always thought it was just because the sides of your fingers are less sensitive than the middle, and therefore a bit less painful?
