Hi
I have just been on a diabetes education course and was told my Dr should give me testing strips on script because i am on Gliclazide as its poss I could have a hypo also i drive a lot for my job and so should test do anyone else out their get them on script thats on this drug i have an app with GP on wednesday and want to know if i can fight for them

Yes because if you go hypo and have an accident then he would be liable. You need to ensure you are above 5mmol before starting driving and retest every few hours. Get the info from the DVLA site and take it with you.

Hi . I'm on the same medication and I have test strips . It seams to me in depends what part of the country you are from . I have read a few comments form people on this forum . Go to your doctor and tell him that you need the test strips to manage your diabetes and if he will still not give them to you on prescription . Tell him that you will put it in writing the he has refused to give them to you and you will hold him responsible if anything happens to you . I would not like to be without my meter and test strips .as I test myself before I drive . Hope you get it sorted out what ever you decide to do

Hi ..the rule for driving is to test before then every 2 hours ...your doctor should give you test strips as your on medication and driving ..hope you get it sorted

When I asked about test strips I was told that only patients taking Glicazide were prescribed them so you should be given them
 
i,m on both of those drugs and my gp will presribe me 50 strips a month. i buy the rest
