Tests

I'm not sure what you are asking about. Are you asking about testing your BG before and after your meals in order to adjust your diet to one that will possibly reverse you out of prediabetes. (a Low Carb 'Way of Eating')

Or are you asking about tests for diabetes complications which can still happen (rarely) before your Blood Glucose gets up into the diabetes ranges - as it did for my fellow moderator @KennyA .

The best advice I know of for testing meals is here: https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html
This is what got me on the path to T2D med free remission over 4yrs ago.

I believe it is important to test your blood sugars when you are prediabetic. You have a small window of opportunity to prevent the progress of diabetes. Testing your blood sugars allows you to see what is going on with your blood sugars, how your body is metabolising carbs, how many carbs your body can handle and adjusting your diet so that your body can handle the carbs you do eat. In short, to adjust your diet to bring down elevated blood sugars preventing diabetes. Don't ignore prediabetes.
