I've been wondering about the dawn phenomenon; I haven't been testing for long but from my limited experience, I've found that if my post evening meal BG is between 5.0-5.5, my fasting BG is likely to be under 5. But if my post evening meal BG is under 5, then the following morning I'll have a fasting BG of 5.4 -5.5. Is this normal? And is this something to do with the dawn thingy?

It would be hard to say however the numbers you are talking about here are all normal..........so, you may be looking too much in to things.....

I realise you may just be wanting to learn more about thing in general.....

I can understand the logic though......if overnight you're running a smidgen lower, your liver may feel the need to assist more upon waking.....

the number range you described is just so small that its likely just the discrepancy of the meter....
