I love the U.K. and I happened to be viewing this "Best of British" site. I found it very funny and true, especially from an American's perspective. Hope you enjoy!

:p Aye, and the "knickers" meaning is the one that can really cause problems, as in the States knickers means street- trousers that stop just below the knee and are worn by women and men.

The word "bangs", is another one, for hairstyle.description.
 
I went to Knotts Landing in Myrtle Beach in SC and one bar there was running an advert outside which announced "Shagging Tonight". I went in and soon a woman asked me if I shagged. Fortunately, I had done my homework and knew what was meant by that expression in that part of the USA. Still, I didn't want to upset the poor lady so I made my excuse, "I'm sorry, I'm just nipping outside for a quick fag."

Yes, I had an Aunt with that nickname, making the word's usage even more complicated!
I know how the UK uses it, though, more provocative than how the yanks use it to describe a part of the anatomy.
