My daughter and I saw the Olympic torch today :D

I love the Olympics :D and it came through our town. The atmosphere was absolutley fantastic. The road is only minutes away from our house, so when I came back from my hospital appointment we went straight down there. The torch carrier was a disabled lady and she started off in her wheel chair and then got out to walk a very short distance, wow all I can say again is.............IT WAS FANTASTIC, I am so excited about the Olympics and watching these fabulous athelets makes me feel so proud and envious of their extrodinary talents. Also we will be able to view it in our own time, not the middle of the night  and the sun was out today and was very warm. I managed to take a few photos as well, yippppeeeeee

I hope you are having a great day as well. RRB

Missed it when it came to my area.

It went through at 7am in the morning and in order to see it we would have had to be up and out for 5am - bit of an effort when we had both been up half the night with a stomach bug.

Having watched the Jubilee celebrations and Wimbledon I can't wait for the Olympics and yes it will be on a reasonable time for once. We will also watch the Para Games too and marvel at the valiant athletes.

Yes, it's a good year to live in the UK and I'm proud too.

Yes! I have athletics, BMX and beach volleyball tickets, and I'm very excited. I know it's going to be wonderful.

Having said that, if the Olympic Torch Relay came through my back garden, I'd probably shut the curtains.

Lucky, lucky you..

Most of the things that interested us are too far away from the Midlands - so I'll be glued to the TV.

Enjoy your Olympics..

The torch rushed through South Queensferry at 50 mph in a minibus and was taken to a private event which locals were not invited to which was very disappointing for those of us who turned out to see it.

However my mum and my sisters were able to see it when it passed through where they live.

Also looking forward to the Olympics, sounds like you've had a great time RB
