Michael Gove and his insane educational? policies!
Wow that's soooooooo right (takes big sip of wine thinks of telling her !!!!!! Mmmmmm nah I'll leave it lol )
This makes me realise how lucky my husband is as I don't watch any of these programmes or soaps. I can also have a shower, dry hair and be dressed to go out of the door in 35 minutes if left to get on with it. And I have long hair. I am polishing my halo now and about to tell husband how lucky he is. Think I deserve a glass of Chardonnay on the house!

Would love to but am about to cook dinner. My husband says a woman's work is never done. Apparently that's why they only get half the pay. I cannot decide whether to hit him with my rolling pin or the frying pan!

Um, yes, very real cliffs and very real bike. Also very real road and very real cyclepath along the cliff tops so no real risk, biggest danger is being chased by the out of control dogs that are always running around up there.

Dictators who positively go out of their way to force misery, tears and fears, upon their countryman's lives.
Politicians who, in dealing with dictators, have a wishbone where a backbone should be.
Welcome to the Polar Bear Inn, we are now fully stocked with all forms of virtual ale, lagers, spirits and wines, plus the odd bag of pork scratchings. All our mixers are guaranteed sugar free. Prices are low and all drinks are calorie and carb free.

No swearing, spitting or selling kitchens allowed.

Name your poison, the first one is on the house

Well these days, one does not participate one's self in the rather enjoyable pastime alcohol offers however, one can still mention one's preferred poison of 100 years ago.

Before I begin however, permit me, if you will, to issue the following statement.
Despite being a pristine, warm, cosy, welcoming, rose covered establishment with the thoroughly professional, attractive and most beautiful of beautiful owner/ landladys, I rather suspect the Polar Bear Inn would not cater for one who rather enjoyed wetting his whistle so to speak, with the warm, smooth, delicate and velvety tasting Whisky of one's choice. It (the poison) being rather expensive you see, old girl. Sniff. :playful:

.....Anti, is the name, Antiquary.

Finally, I must confess that participating in those enjoyable sessions of far off days moved forward apace, one could never quite recall the pronunciation of "Antiquary", was the emphasis as follows...... Antiquary or Antiquary?
The brain is now so frazzled from those enjoyable sessions that one finds oneself unable to recall the correct answer. :joyful:

On reflection, perhaps settling for AntiMary may be the better option.

Thank you for an excellent thread.

Kind personal regards.

Willie.

i shall have to acquire a bottle if I can find one, I rather enjoy a drop of the whisky myself from time to time as does Mrs Bear.

My usual spirit of choice though is a nice Panamanian Ron Abuelo, also a 12 year aged spirit and wonderfully smooth. The only place I know of where I can get it is in Old Compton Street in London where there is a fantastic specialist shop selling spirits from all over the world, and at the other end of the road I think there is still a specialist Whisky place. i'll have to check next time I make the journey up.
