The power of fasting blood glucose

To be honest, portion size, eating to hunger and leaving the table before you are filled is the key factor in controlling my diabetes, if i have to put it one sentence. I have stopped counting macros at all. Some protein, some veggies and other low-carb stuff (cheese, low carb bread). No more fat bombs, or grazing on nuts or nut flour, no more heavy creams.

Why have you cut out on your fats? Is there a particular reason for this?

@finsit will explain himself better than I can, but my understanding is that as a follower of Dr Bernstein's VLC, with carbs mostly replaced by protein and the fat that happens to come with it, he eschews extremes including the excesses of keto?
 
@Bluetit1802 Alexandra is right, but even following Bernstein diet, i was still getting some extra fats off and on on regular basis. However, with my extensive experimentation in the past few months, i found couple of things regarding fats. One, they delay spikes so i can not know when i am going to have the spikes which keeps me guessing all the time, secondly even though the spike is delayed i may have higher than 6 mmol/l for few hours.

Other reasons for me was that i have started to believe that you should not separate macronutrients at all. It only makes sense. If nature has put fats with protein then having fats alone (excessive quantity) and having protein alone (like protein powder) will probably have adverse affect on your metabolism. At least it did on mine. So whatever experiments i do, i always return back to what Bernstein suggests, he is a genius. I don't eat low-fat food. I don't remove fat from ribs or meat, i eat full fat yogurt and Cheddar, i eat 2-3 eggs with yolk. However, i have stopped crazy-keto where they tell you to kill your hunger with excessive fat. I have realised if im hungry even after 3 hours, i will eat something and it wont affect my BG, but that would be a piece of cheese (fat+protein), few nuts every now and then, but not a bowel of nuts on daily basis. I have also reduced butter, just using olive oil in cooking. Overall i feel much better and my BGs are much under control after doing that. My LDL went high on LCHF and i am not waiting to see my next results where i have just stopped extra fats to see how it affects my LDL, i am certain it will go down.
 
@finsit IMO the tide has turned against fat bombs and crazy keto. Even Diet Doctor has revised it's emphasis towards higher protein instead:

Maybe we needed the extreme high fat doctrine to counter-act the low-fat propaganda that still pervades mainstream medical literature and journalism. The battle is by no means won yet!
Absolutely, anything in moderation is always the best. Our bodies are not designed to eat excessive fats on its own and not the lean meat either. The macronutrients packed by nature has the right combination for us. I still use heavy cream for my tea/coffee but that's only few spoons a day, which should be fine i guess. Dr. Eric Westman is best man to follow for scientific and real keto.
