I'm really thirsty, unable to stop drinking and I'm
Never satisfied. I've always drank enough even pre diabetes but It's got worse the last few days

Blood sugars have been perfect since new year, highest was 11.4 when I misjudged some carbs last week. I've got a libre on at the moment and there's no spikes on there, finger testing about 6 times per day with reading between 5-9.8 over the last week, no hypers or hypos.

Anyone had anything similar?

Do you take any other medications @bethgriff ? One of mine (sorry can't remember off hand which, possibly my anti-anxiety meds) has a common side effect of "dry mouth" so I'm always drinking.

And also always trying to convince my parents it's not because my BS is too high!

I feel thirsty above 8 or so. I've also found that if I have even a mild cold or am tired, I often feel thirstier than usual.

If it persists and feels really unnatural, it may be worth a chat with your doctor to put your mind at rest.

i feel thirsty around 8ish though that doesn't happen very often - you say you are having some readings of around 9 when you test - this is a little bit high you could be on the downward curve when test so could have been higher which could very well be the reason for your thirst - for me test of 9.8 would be a high reading and I would be thirsty sluggish and very sleepy - you may just need to adjust your carbs slightly- I can't comment too much as I don't have any knowledge of your type of diabetes - hopefully someone can advise you better :)

I'm a type 3c (pancreatectomy 7 years ago). Under 10 is where I'm aiming at the moment, I had a horrendous hba1c in the summer which was a kick to change things and take control. I'm wearing the libre at the moment so I know I'm
Not spiking :( I'm on lisinopril and creon but no recent changes. No idea what's going on... think I'll have to go see the gp :(

I get thirsty on a morning and I drink a lot and my numbers are on the up until about 11 ish then down to about 6.5 on average, thirst then stops until I've eaten lunch when my numbers go back up until mid afternoon. Bit annoying on a morning as I've a fair walk to the gents and like today i'd no sooner got back and couple of times 10 minutes later I'm off again. I get some funny looks in the office being up and down all the time, still It's exercise I suppose. I'd just see how you go and like if it's getting to much maybe see someone.

What happened inbetween 12 and 3pm? A lunch and spike? A spike higher than 7.8mmol/l? Maybe thats triggered the thirst? Or at least topped up the circulating glucose?

Talk to your doctor. There are some autoimmune conditions that attack the salivary glands, and other conditions that can cause thirst etc.
