If it's purely to test ketosis for dieting purposes (as opposed to being Type 1 and testing because of DKA), it depends on how obsessive you want to be about it really. Most people under 50g carbs a day are likely to be in ketosis.

I'm low carving. Was having between 50 and 75g with odd foray up to 90g. I stopped my 500mg metformin a week ago so I want to keep to 50g or less. I'm not that obsessive about testing kerosine if I don't need to.If it's purely to test ketosis for dieting purposes (as opposed to being Type 1 and testing because of DKA), it depends on how obsessive you want to be about it really. That's very kind of you. On reflection I think I'll stick to under 50g carbs for now. Its a busy time at work at the moment and I can't do justice to the reading... But I know where to come if I want to in future. Thanks againI have a comprehensive guidebook to the Ketogenic diet, as a computer PDF file. If you (or anybody) are/is interested then I'd be happy to e-mail it. The book is available on Amazon but very expensive. It goes into a lot of detail.
