Three spikes in five hours?

Hi type 2 here. The other day I went off the rails and ate a good bit. Hamburger, chips and cheese, slice of pie, and a cookie. I know im not supposed to eat like this but it was a holiday and I had a moment of weakness. Over the next five hours I had five spikes on my CGM. I never seen my blood glucose do this. Any reason why? Im worried I developed gastropareis due to constant burping and upper bloating, but last year I took the test and it came back negative.

Hi @Db2213
your graph, actually shows three spikes, not five.
this is because of two double spikes, this is not uncommon, some do, some don't!
but your spike is relative and expected after what you ate.
The spikes are there as you top up with continuous food.
The spikes are too high and not recommended.
I would definitely learn from this, and decide whether you want to control the T2.
Your normal pre meal level look high, I think, from looking at the graph.

Only thing I can come up with is that we are not machines, we all have individual reactions to food. What we ate, when we ate it and what we ate it with, makes a huge difference to our individual insulin response and the rate carbs are digested.
That's why pizzas can be problematic for insulin users to correctly dose for the carbs, the fat from the cheese can delay digestion of the carbs, causing blood sugar to rise several hours after eating.
