Time to come out of the woodwork

Hi all, been sitting on the side-lines watching and reading and I thought it was time to come and join in, my name is Lyn I'm am 65 and t2 and insulin dependant, I was diagnosed in 2006 and have been managing/monitoring myself since being signed off from the hospital in 2007, after a very unproductive interview with the DN who after she tried to get me to eat food I daren't touch for other medical problems she finally said she didn't think she could be of much help, could have told her that, anyway now see another nurse at the practice for my reviews who is a sweetie and goes out of her way to look up stuff she doesn't know.

The frightening thing is when I look in the mirror I see my grandma, mind she was a wonderful Lady, but in my mind I'm still only weeeelllll shame the body doesn't match, look a bit like my avatar just don't have the purple slippers YET
