A few weeks ago I needed to replace both my Dexcom One sensor and transmitter. I found that although the app accepted the transmitter number, the next step to enter the sensor number gave me a blank screen with no keypad. I tried restarting this process many times, and in the end removed and reloaded the app, which caused me to lose all my previous readings. Eventually after 2 hours of trying, I finally got a sensor number keypad, and managed to get things working.

I reported this to Dexcom, and their helpline phoned me. The support guy asked how frequently I restarted my phone (Samsung Galaxy A13), which was almost never. He suggested that in future I restart the phone fairly frequently as its cache tends to fill up and slow things down.

I've noticed that the app often takes a long time ( 1 minute or more) to show a display, and that restarting my phone seems to make things a lot better. Worth trying if you have similar problems?

This is kind of the reason why I don't want to migrate to that because I'm hearing too many horror stories about how it needs to be reset all the time and there's always problems like this. I have been using my Accu-Chek for over 4 years now and haven't had one problem. So I just don't think it's worth it unless you are tired of the constant needle pricks.

It probably depends on how often you test and whether you need help spotting hypos. As a T1 who is old enough to remember the pre glucometer urine in a test tube days, the advent of cgms has been almost as significant as the advent of glucometers. But I need a blood test result to calculate my insulin doses before meals and to correct highs and lows so I'd probably be testing more than 10 times a day without a cgm and also risk night time hypos.

You could always trial a sensor if you are curious? I love my dexcom G7. (And I haven't been experiencing app glitches though if I did my first attempt at a fix would be to restart my phone.)

I've found an answer to the missing numeric keypad sensor problem I had with my phone  It's happened the last two times I've needed to use a new transmitter (around every 3 months).

When I get to the 'Enter Sensor Code' bit there is no keypad showing. But if I change over to another app (WhatsApp for me) and then go back to the Dexcom app, the keypad miraculously appears! Then you can continue and finish the new transmitter/sensor process before starting the sensor warmup.

I discovered this just by chance when 'WhatsApp' message came through while I was installing the new transmitter/sensor and I answered it, before going back to the dexcom app, and the keypad then showed up. The second time I tried it, it worked! I've detailed this 'hack' in a report to dexcom.
