New drug Tirzepatide is both diabetic drug and weight loss drug. It is a weekly injectable and combines two mechanisms that the Glutide family uses to improve efficacy.

Please note that the trial was supported(?) by Eli Lilly, the drug manufacturer, so is not totally independant.

I wonder if the same nasties that the Glutides suffer from will raise their heads with this one. DKA, Thyroid cancer, pancreatitis? Time will tell. This seems to be a bigger sledgehammer.

Indeed… the reviews I’ve read mimic Ozempic they’re good, bad and everything in between …. I think people take them, hopefully after informing themselves or being informed of potential side effects and cross fingers ‘they’ will be ok with it… don’t we all ….. my DB t2 is caused by my weight, I have complex history with food .. currently on oz 2mg, after working up to that… the fuller quicker feeling did not happen on the 1 mg hence increase … if necessary, I will try mounjaro when it’s in the uk, and fervently hope it’s dual aspect works ( alongside counselling) if that fails…. I will consider bariatric surgery …. we are still only at the beginning of the dawn of these new drugs…. Best wishes to you, Berni
